Battle Ground Lions Club~ Serving our Community Since 1971!
The Battle Ground Lions Club is deeply involved in our community. We partner with other organizations in our area to put our motto into action: We Serve!
We adopted Florence Robison Park on NW 9th Street, Battle Ground. The peaceful park is 5+ acres surrounding three small ponds and features a level, paved path.We keep park benches in good repair, maintain signs and barkdust, along with keeping vegetation trimmed and garbage picked up.
We coordinate the Battle Ground-area collection site for the annual Walk & Knock Food Drive held the 1st Saturday of December: See you on December 7,2024 at the Dollars Corner Fire Station on 72nd Avenue just south of SR 502. This year Walk & Knock will bring back walkers and people who want to drive and drop off food can do that too. Check back for more details this fall. Visit the Walk & Knock website to volunteer.
Where there’s a need, There’s a Lion:
We Serve!
We volunteer at the North County Community Food Bank to help them provide services to more than 650 families each month.
We partner with Boy Scouts of America Troop 344 to provide Scouting opportunities for Battle Ground Scouts. Scouting provides three essentials of positive youth development: life-skills-building experiences, youth leadership opportunities, and positive, long-term relationships with caring adult mentors.
We support Just One Thing Battle Ground to help them provide hope, skills and resources to address homelessness in Battle Ground and north Clark County. Our efforts include creating “Hope Bags” as well as donations of supplies to support the BGPS Family & Community Resource Center, which exists to help families meet housing needs and economic challenges so that kids can remain in school
Our volunteers pick up donated glasses and transport them to NW Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center in Lacey, Washington. LERC provides used eyeglasses free of charge to people in remote areas of developing countries, delivered by volunteer eye care professionals.
Battle Ground , WA drop off sites for recycled eyeglasses: First Sight Family Vision by the BG Cinema, Battle Ground Vision Center by the North County Food Bank, Watters Eye Care by Jack in the Box, Fred Meyer Pharmacy, Battle Ground Health and the Battle Ground Community Library.
